Если прокурорские проверки ничего не дадут, граждане собираются обращаться в суд — будут опротестовывать регламент администрации города по приёму граждан в первые классы. На их взгляд, он искажает федеральный закон. Там чётко сказано, что правила должны обеспечивать приём граждан, проживающих на территории, за которой закреплена школа. А в нашем регламенте сказано о приёме по месту регистрации (проживания).
Родители также составили предложение в адрес администрации Екатеринбурга, которое они в ближайшие дни направят на имя Александра Якоба, с копией главе района и руководителю городского Департамента образования. Жители района предлагают вернуть к жизни закрытую когда-то школу № 108, которая работала до 1969 года. Потом эту школу соединили с 99-й, а в её бывшем здании открыли Дом пионеров, позже туда переехало УФМС. Жители Эльмаша считают, что здание на углу Баумана и Стачек нужно вернуть в систему образования и сделать там начальную школу для 99-й.
